Day 105 - A Visual Motivator

Day 105 - I lost 1.8 pounds this week. So glad to be headed toward my goal again. I continue to worry more about keeping my weight off than losing the weight. A lifetime of yo-yoing has done that to me. I decided to make a very visual motivator as well as an accountibility system. I went to Walmart and bought everything I needed. I got two glass decorative containers and 100 stones. One container says GOAL and the other says POUNDS TO LOSE. Right now, there are 30 stones in the GOAL container and 70 stones in the POUNDS TO LOSE containers. I bought black stones so they would really stand out. Everytime I lose or gain a pound, I will move a stone accordingly. These jars will never go away because I will use them for maintainence after I have reached my goal. I am going to put them in a visible place - my daughter's suggestion - so that my family can see my progress and encourage me. I will NOT want to move stones out of my GOAL container!! NO WAY!

When I first counted out 30 stones and put them in my GOAL jar, I was excited! But then when I counted  70 stones and put them in the POUNDS TO LOSE  jar - I felt like crying!!! I knew I had a long way to go but this visual took my breath away! I have to stay positive while being realistic. I haven't been exercising as much as I should this week - I better MOVE IT! MOVE IT!!! I need to move some rocks!!!!

Dear Harriette,
I got the name of your blog from my friend Frances Brown. She mentioned what an inspiriation your blog has been and since I am on my own weight loss journey, I couldn't wait to read about yours. I am one day into mine...I need to lose 75 pounds. I wanted you to know I've read all your post and they have helped me so much! I may not comment every post, but just know I am reading and rooting for you! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks so much, Liz! I will be rooting for you, too!! I will also be praying for you as you begin your journey. We have about the same amount of weight to lose - I need to lose 70 pounds at this point. Your post came at a time when I really needed some encouragement! Keep me posted on your progress!!
