Day 162-Ch-ch-ch-changes!

Day 162-Weight 194.4-Lost 2.2 pounds this week- 38.8 pounds total.
I have been on  a plateau for quite awhile. I started reading about how to handle a plateau on Weight Watchers online. Making a change to the Simply Filling technique was suggested. I started Saturday on WW's Simply Filling technique and you can eat until you are full from a huge list of Power Foods. Well, I have discovered so many, many things I love on that list and the biggest advantage is that it completely does away with cravings and hunger! You get your extra 49 points a week to spend on non-power foods. The crucial part of this technique is that you do NOT eat anymore when you FIRST start feeling full. Fortunately for me, I never eat past that point anyway! There is no measuring and no counting these Power Foods, except for the healthy oils. My body has responded well to the generous amounts of healthy food. This program is much easier to follow than the Points Plus because you only have to count the things you eat that are not on the list.

Power Foods I LOVE:
lean meats, fish, poultry
fruits
vegetables
whole grain reduced calorie breads
whole grain PASTA!
brown rice
potatoes - sweet and white
eggs
grits
oatmeal
fat-free cheese and milk
popcorn
cornmeal
healthy oil (2 tsp.)

Are you seeing why I am so excited? My breakfast used to be a one-point yogurt with one-fourth of a cup of cereal sprinkled on top. Now, it is grits and eggs or a double serving of oatmeal and TOAST!!! I am LOVIN' having more CARBS in my life! The carbs are what stops the food cravings because they are full of the B vitamins and that is what the brain craves! I am also incredibly excited about this way of eating because it will be much easier to continue after I've lost 100 pounds to maintain my weight loss for the rest of my life!

I would like to say that Weight Watchers online is worth every penny I have paid for it. It is a seemingly endless source of information. It also has a community so I can talk to real people who have struggles just like me. I am so glad for the flexiblity it offers with more than one way to eat.

Just want to end by sharing something that will show you where my heart and mind is focused. JJ and Manny had a fabulous Super Hero party last Saturday. It was the cutest party ever! I learned from parties in the past to bring something to snack on so I brought a bag of microwave popcorn - already popped. Denise had caffeine-free Diet Coke on hand. When everyone had the cake and ice cream, I savored the popcorn and diet Coke, which the soda was a special treat for me! Lamar's mother came by and said, "Aren't you pitiful over here eating your popcorn?" She and I adore sweets and she was being sympathetic because she knows what a sacrific that is for me! I thought for a moment and said, "You know, I'm not! I'm really diggin' my popcorn!" Thinking back on this, I realize I have come so very far on my journey!
